Frequently asked questions

How many items are needed for a blanket/ animal?


Each item listing will give you the approximate number of items required for that keepsake, please bear in mind that if a lot of your items are newborn or smaller we may require extra.




What types of clothes can be used to make a blanket/ animal?


Generally speaking we can use almost any item to make your keepsake, however they generally work best when using fabrics of a similar weight (thickness). Really thick knitted fabrics or heavy fleece can be a problem. Using items of a similar thickness also helps in the uniformity of the item. We regret that we cannot use swimwear or plastic rain jacket. If you have a query about a particular item please drop us an email before ordering.




How long will it take for my item to arrive?


Our standard turn around time is 5/6 weeks once we have recieved your items, if there is an extentended period it will be made clear on our home page before you place an order. Very occasionally due to unforseen circumstances this may change after ordering, in this case you will be emailed and notified at the earlist opportunity.




Can my item be made sooner/ for a specific date?


Please contact us BEFORE ordering if you require your item before our turn around time. Whilst we will try to accomodate this request during busier periods this may not be possible therefore it is best to check first.




There is something else I would like, do you take on custom requests?


Yes, we are all ears to new ideas and enjoy creating items personalised for you. Please note that we will not copy or replicate something that another company is producing but are happy to take inspiration.




Can I spread the cost?


Yes, with our split pay scheme you can spread the cost over time by paying a 20% deposit immeditately and the remaining 80% within 12 weeks of ordering. All you have to do is add your item/s to the basket, check out and enter code SPLITPAY at checkout which will reduce your total by 80% we will then send an invoice for the remaining amount which can be paid in manageable installements within 12 weeks of your order. Items will be made and dispatched once the FULL payment has been received and is subject to the usual turn around time. The 20% deposit is non refundable, we will send you reminders if you are nearing the 12 week maximum with a balance left to pay. If for whatever reason you are unable to keep to your payment plan all payments will be returned less the 20% deposit.




Do we ship overseas?


We are happy to offer international shipping, the cost will be covered by you, the customer. If you would like extra infomation or a shipping quote please get in touch.




How should I post my items to you?


Once you have ordered you will receive an email containing postage instructions. We advise that you post items in a secure waterproof mailing bag via a recorded service or courier to minimise loss and damage. It is important that you put a reference in to yourself so we know who it's arrived from.




What condition do clothes need to be in?


We are aware that the scent of loved ones can also hold a very sentimental importance but we do ask that items are in a clean condition. If your items are really worn out they may not be suitable to create particular peices as it will not be durable, please get in touch if you have any concerns. Be aware that we will try to avoid any stains or marks on items however this isn't always possible due to the size of the pattern used.




What happens if I sent too many/ too little items?


If we do not have enough items to complete your keepsake we will contact you and arrange for you to send some more to us. If you have sent too many items and some have not been used we will return these along with your keepsake. Please do not deliberatly send too many as this will increase the postage charges which will be invoiced for the additional payment. Offcuts and the remnants of clothing used will be kept on the premises for a minimum of 2 weeks, should you wish for them to be returned please get in touch and this can be arranged at your own expense.




Can I send bibs, hats, booties etc?


Yes, if you choose to add in additional small items of clothing and accessories these can be worked into the patchwork or sewn over the top using applique technique.




Can I drop my items off/ collect my order?


Yes, we are more than happy for you to drop your items to use and collect once completed. Just select the collection option at checkout. After you have purchased your item/s contact us to arrange a convenient time to drop off.




When shall I send you my items?


Please send us your items as quickly as possible so we can get to work on making your precious keepsake. If there is going to be a delay it would be helpful if you could update us. If you are paying via our split pay scheme, please wait until you have paid 70% of the total before sending us your items. We will let you know when the amount has been reached. The turnaround time starts from the day we receive your items.
